The 2016 Oregon State Challenge (October 1 to 15) that took place this year through Drive Less Connect had q substantial increase in interest and participation. We had seven of our local partners promote the campaign. Statistically, we saw a significant increase in:
Light rail trips increased by 39%
Bike trips increased by 34%
Bus increased by 61%
Carpool by 49%
Walking by 79%
Drive alone trips increased by only 32%
We had almost twice as many regional participants for 2016 than last year; with about a quarter of them users who reactivated their accounts in order to participate. The increased participation could possibly have been due to businesses having the opportunity to compete against each other this year.
