Scheduled Platform Update - Available for Review on Training Server by August 20th

iCarpool has been working on enhancements to the platform, and will be uploading the changes to the training server by August 20th.  Administrators are asked to review the changes,  and send feedback to anne.bruskland@kingcounty.gov and/or Support@rideshareonline.com using the FeedbackLog by COB on Friday, August 24th.  Assuming no fatal flaws are identified, the changes will be uploaded and available on the production server on Monday, August 27th.

There are a number of report changes that have been made based on user feedback.  Administrators should carefully review, plan and prepare for changes to production reports based on report modifications.  If you have developed Excel macro’s which use existing reports, you may need to be revise the macros to support the new report structure.  Having the reports available on the training server will give administrators time to review, test and make modifications prior to the changes going into production.

Below are highlights of some of the upcoming scheduled platform changes based on feedback from tri-state partners.

1

Network administrators will be able to maintain comments associated with a user. Each network will have its own separate comments. The comments are not displayed to the user.

2

Network name of network generating a report displayed in all reports.

3

Multiple changes in reports including additional columns and formatting changes. Sample changes:

  • Vanpool Start-up and Termination report displays change date.
  • Vanpool driver switch and van unit switch displays change date.
  • Vanpoolers list mailing address is broken out into address line, city, state and zip.

4

The modal distribution pie chart has been removed and both modal distribution reports (miles and trips) have been consolidated into a single report. Additional columns provide information on number of users, achievements.

5

University networks will be able to be added as a parent for worksite networks.

6

Worksite network contact and vanpool contact phone will allow extension number.

7

Incentive feature will allow administrators to remove a user from an eligibility list (the option to Remove is in addition to options of Approve and Reject).

8

Calendar trips will only be available up to 2 years in the past. Trips older than 2 years will be removed. Individual and network achievement tracking will be unaffected.

9

When changing a vanpool route, P&R can be toggled on the map view.

I just realized that I did not post a confirmation that the udpates were moved over to the production server (although I am sure most of  you figured it out by now).  Just wanted to make a post to confirm to close this thread. We will be reviewing some of these items at the next Administrator meeting on 9/27/2012.  How to see/hear you there.
