Adding a batch of new vehicles to RSO

Hello all,

 

We're in the process of refreshing our fleet of vanpool vehicles with 2011 model vans.  There are going to be 30 or so new vehicles on the road to replace aging vehicles.

 

Of course, this means we'll need to update RSO with the new vehicle numbers for each vanpool group that receives a new van.

 

Is there an alternative to adding the new vehicles to the fleet one at a time, then changing the van unit one at a time for all 30 or so groups?

There currently is no bulk process for adding new vans to the system. This is something that would be good for you to add to the Issues list.

 

When you enter new vehicles in the system, the only field you are required to enter is the vehicle number. However, if you do not enter the Seating Capacity, it will default to 10.

 

Switching a group to a new vehicle is a different process. If you want to suggest that as part of a bulk process, I would enter it on the Issues list as a seperate item.

There aren't very many actions in RSO that would work well with bulk entries but I think this would be worth looking into.  Our agency adds all the new vehicles at one time not periodically throughout the year.  It would be nice to just dump them in all at once.  I'll get it on the Issues list and see what happens.
