At the suggestion of Ellen Cintron from Pierce Transit, I decided to try to find a way that Smart Transportation members could receive updates via email when new information is posted. I spent a bit of time exploring and found that we can use the forum function to achieve this goal. If you choose to follow a forum item and/or category, you'll receive an email when information is posted.
I'd like to suggest that we attempt to use this function to replace the administrator emails that Anne Bruskland and I have been sending. Here's why this might be helpful to all of us:
This function gives you control over which forum topics you want to follow via email. Here's a summary of the options:
Follow a specific forum item: When you click on a forum window and open it, look in the bottom left corner. You'll see an envelope with the word follow. Click that link and you'll get an e-mail anytime someone posts a response to that forum item.
Follow a specific forum category: I have created two forum categories to capture the topics that have been published thus far: upgrades and technical support and training. You can subscribe to get an email anytime a new forum entry is posted in one of these categories. To do so, go to the Smart Transportation homepage and click the link for the category you want to follow (Upgrades or Technical Support and Training). A new page will open with forum entries on your selected topic. Click follow at the bottom of the box to get emails whenever a new discussion is posted in that category.
Follow all new forum postings:
You can subscribe to get an email anytime a new forum entry is posted, regardless of category or topic. To do so, go to the Smart Transportation homepage and click View All at the bottom of the Forum box. The Forum Discussions page will open. Click Follow at the bottom of the Forum Discussions box on this page. You'll get emails whenever a new forum discussion item is posted.
