Magic Tricks - Tips of the trade to help your end users

We talked at the May Admin meeting about trips and tricks to help end users access and use their accounts.  Please chime in with others you discover along the way so we can all share in the fun!!

 

Captcha - Sometimes we have people call and say they can't get through the captcha on the registration page.  Often they are trying to put in a space, because it looks like there is one.  There is NEVER a space in the Captcha as far as the program works.

 

Temporary Password - Sometimes it works better to copy and past the temporary password out of the email and into the screen.

 

Calendaring - I've had two people this week call to tell me that they can't fix mistakes they made on their calendars because the delete link doesn't show up.  It looks like if it's on the last week of the month, the pop up shows up too low on the screen to delete.  The way around this is to change the screen resolution all the way down to 50% or below, then the link appears and the trip can be deleted.  (a feedback log entry has been made on this).
