Smart Transportation Now Public; Overhaul Complete

I completed a Smart Transportation overhaul to:

  • Make it easier for people to find what they need on the site.
  • Make the site more timely and relevant.
  • Make it easier for people to find and use the site.

Blog: We're focusing on the forum as our primary place to have conversations and share information. Blog items that contained information of lasting value were moved to the forum or into one of the information boxes. Other blog items were deleted.

Regional administrators group: This is the place for conversations about topics of interest to regional administrators. This is an invitation-only group and the public can't see documents and conversations posted for this group.

Public access: Eeryone can now view the main site and its contents. People must join the site to post and comment. Anyone can join. They must, however, fill out a captcha before joining to help us control spam.

Reorganized home site: I reorganized the home page to focus on the items network administrators need most and to eliminate or de-emphasize clutter.

What do you think of the changes? We can always adjust based upon your feedback.

How do people request access to specific groups.  For instance, I think I should be in the PacNW Regional Admins group.  Are you inviting people or do we request access?

I like the green background.

This group is for regional administrators, so membership is limited to people who serve in that role. There are a couple of ways regional administrators can join:

> Request to join the group.

> Await a friend request from Mika Imori. Accept it. Then await an invitation to join the group. We're starting to send friend requests and invitations this week.

Great! PS: Where do I find the iCarpool training videos from FLT Consulting? I believe there's one on Calendaring. Thanks.

I am not familiar with the videos. I have sent a message to Mark Messinger to inquire.

The draft videos can be found in the Oregon Regional Network Admin Discussion Forum:

http://smarttransportation.ning.com/group/oregonregionalnetworkadmi...

You will find two discussions that I posted with draft videos attached.

Thanks.

I sent out numerous 'friend' requests yesterday.  Please accept me as a friend :)   Then I'll be able to invite you to join the PacNW Regional Admin group.

I just posted the May 30th meeting notes in the PacNW Reg Admin page.
