Hi Stan, were you envisioning the forum to host a number of topical discussion sections?

 

It seems like topics such as the following might be helpful:

  • Network configuration
  • Incentive/rewards management
  • Outreach strategies
  • Reports

Sure - and any other topics members bring up and want to discuss.

Hi Stan, are you looking for a structured online forum, with topical sections (see wiki link) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_forum , or more of an open-ended bulletin board where folks just post up general questions without regard to a specific topic?  It's not clear to me what this software supports, but typically in contemporary use, the term forum refers to the more structured approach.  Either approach offers a medium for discussion, and will be of benefit to our admins.

I would like to see a knowledge base where Administrators can ask technical questions about RSO.  Other Regional Administrators, RSO support or iCarpool staff would give answers.  When Administrators encounter an issue a quick check of the knowledge base may provide the answer, saving RSO support staff time.  iCarpool staff could also learn about how the system is performing by monitoring the forum.
Let's try the forum function on this site. It doesn't allow us to organize in topical discussion sessions, but it's searchable, which may meet our needs.

Let's give the forum function on this site a try. Technical questions are welcome and I know that RSO support and iCarpool staff monitor this site. I'm also watching for questions and, if I can't answer them, will help get the attention of someone who can to response here.
